Shostakovich. Samtlige 15 symfonier. Hvilken en der bedst kan jeg ikke rigtig bestemme mig for. Men hvorfor vælge når man kan få dem alle sammen på en gang, i en fremragende version både musikalsk og lydteknisk til en rigtig god pris. Her taler jeg selvfølgelig om Rudolf Barshai version.

CD: Dmitri Shostakovich: Samtlige 15 symfonier & 15 strygekvartetter, alle koncerterne, kammermusik, balletmusik. mm. Rudolf Barshai. Nu er det næppe nogen hemmelighed at Shostakovich er en af mine egne yndlingskomponister, her er ægte vildskab som f.eks. i symfonierne 6, 7, 8, 10 og 13 ’Babi Yar’, og bløde behagelige toner i no. 1, 2, 3, 14, og 15. Mest kendt er nok symfoni no. 7 ”Leningrad. Her får du dem alle en fuldstændig skamrost version, og denne hæder er fuldt fortjent, så blot anmeldelserne længere nede. På dette sæt får du tillige temaet fra mesterspionen ”Sidney Reilly” fra balletmusikken ’The Gadfly’. Faktisk får du hele Shostakovich samlede produktion, minus operaerne (dem har vi også) i dette 27 cd sæt + 1 DVD, som vi lige nu tilbyder til en rigtig god pris. Iflg. Shostakovich selv, var der kun tre dirigenter der var rigtig gode til at få den rette stemning frem i disse symfonier, og det var Rudolf Barshai, Yevgeni Mrawinsky og Kirill Kondrashin.
