  • Carreras, José. LP

    Carreras began acting at age 10 and made his stage debut in opera in his native town of Barcelona in 1970. Since 1974, he has sung in opera houses throughout the world. Carreras is one of the most prominent opera singers of his generation and is particularly known for his roles in the operas of Verdi and Puccini. During his long career he has had over 60 roles on stage and in the studio. He became known to a wider audience as one of The Three Tenors, which also consisted of Plácido Domingo and Luciano Pavarotti. The three played a number of major concerts from 1990 to 2003. Carreras is also known for his humanitarian work as the president of an international leukemia foundation, which he founded after his own recovery from the disease in 1988.

    Frédéric Chopin (1 March 1810 - October 17, 1849) was a Polish composer and pianist who lived most of his adult life in France.

    Even as a four-year, he began to play the piano. In the seven-year age he had his first composition published. He was born in Warsaw, but spent most of his life in Paris. In 1818 he appeared for the first time publicly as a pianist. He composed almost entirely of works for piano, and he loved to improvise when he built them.

    On 17 October 1849 Chopin died after a long illness, tuberculosis.
