Gregorio Allegri (1582 - 17 February 1652) was an Italian composer. He worked at various churches in Rome until he was about. 1630 joined the papal chapel. Has written 5 fairs and many other a cappella works, the most famous of them is Miserere, a cross piece of 9 votes, which was built by the papal chapel in Easter week ever since it was composed. The work was shrouded with great hemmeligsfuldhed and had not pressed, but the 14-year-old Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart duperede pope by writing it down from memory as he had heard it. Although the work is not very characteristic of its period, it became immensely popular. It inspired Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart to use it, and he has transferred its melodic passages to some of his own pieces.
