Even as a four-year, he began to play the piano. In the seven-year age he had his first composition published. He was born in Warsaw, but spent most of his life in Paris. In 1818 he appeared for the first time publicly as a pianist. He composed almost entirely of works for piano, and he loved to improvise when he built them.
On 17 October 1849 Chopin died after a long illness, tuberculosis.
Of great Chopin interpreters can be especially emphasized, Artur Rubinstein, Nikita Magaloff, Martha Argerich and Maurizio Pollini.
