Frederick Delius (29 January 1862 in Bradford - June 10, 1934 in Grez-sur-Loing) was an English composer. Delius wrote most orchestral works, choral works and operas. His musical language is late romantic.

From 1916 was Delius blind and lame as a result of syphilis, but with the help of his secretary, Eric Fenby, he could continue to compose.

Several of his works were inspired by J. P. Jacobsen, opera Fennimore and Gerda as of Jacobsen's novel Niels Lyhne (1880).
