Gustav Mahler was an Austrian composer who lived between 1860 and 1911. During his lifetime, he was first and foremost considered one of the most important conductors; The recognition of his work as a composer came only half a century after his death.
His main works are the ten symphonies, of which the 10 is incomplete (but the music researcher Derek Cooke has completed it) as well as the symphonic song cycles; The song of the Erde and the wonderful Wunderhorn.
